Editing: Ye Saga doth continue

After making changes to the crucial scene series, we continued to cut. A second here, and second there, speed up the ending while you’re at it. We finally hit one minute and fifty-nine seconds; just enough wiggle room. After the timing was 100% good, Elena continued to line everything up. She had to recenter the unsheathing, weapon, and scary sound to where they were before. She also added the ominous music entitled “fright sound” during the confrontation between vampire hunter and Aurelia. This is also the same sound effect used when Mara kills vampire hunter. We also added a heartbeat sound to show that Aurelia is scared when she sees who it is, which adds to the mood and ethos of the film. Searching to find all the right sound effects, lining them up, and figuring out when they should fade in and out was time consuming. We only have ourselves to blame since we are perfectionists.

We added a transition for the two ending shots and got the music ready. Mary sent it to Elena, Elena emailed it to herself, downloaded it on the computer, and uploaded it on cap cut. We trimmed it, faded it in, and lowered the volume. It was now time to add title cards. We figured out what font to use, which was better than we originally picked, and gave off “The Addams Family” vibes that we were going for. Since the majority of the screen was dark, we decided it best to make the text white and add an effect over it that matched the theme. We then inserted the title cards in positions that made them look professional and not all just in the middle of the screen. During this process cap cut began to glitch and Elena worried that she had overdone it with all the scenes, added music, and now text. Luckily when we finally uploaded it, the video ran smoothly. We were done with our project.
