EXCLUSIVE: Meet the Director!

Hello! My name is Elena Mihajlov and welcome to my AICE Media Studies final project for A level. I look forward to taking you through the process of creating and marketing my very own short film, but first, a little bit about me.

I was born and raised in Florida to both Serbian parents. Whilst we would vacation back home during the summer, I didn't get a chance to really grow up surrounded by a lot of family. Without the company of siblings and cousins, I found other ways to entertain myself. I am very crafty and can make almost anything out of anything. Clay, paper, glue, and wire I use to make mushrooms, rings, and figurines. This creativity transcends in my ability to edit videos. I found my passion for editing on Capcut about 2 years ago after being drugged up after my surgery and compulsively making a Daredevil edit. Since then I have used my ability to mash sounds, videos, and effects into making silly videos of my friends and for this class. I love being able to recreate the images I see in my head, through media editing. I often create vivid images and storylines in my head without knowing after watching a movie or listening to a song. This class allows me to bring these images to life, which is truly amazing. I am currently hooked on Mafia movie and would love to recreate the cinematography of Francis Ford Coppola. I love watching all the Godfather movies, Casino, and Goodfellas. I feel strongly that the Godfather theme song is what makes the movie one of the most mysterious and classy franchises of all time.

I believe that I have the artistic abilities to successfully create my own short film. With the right music choice, the right shots, and the right editing, I can make a vision that I am proud of. I can't wait to take you all on this journey with me!
