Soud booths are not made for the short

 Part 2

Mary and Elena were both very upset that Ciara had canceled so last minute, however it wasn’t something we could down on. Elena was already on their way and Mary had gotten everything ready for filming. Our filming time was almost near, we didn’t have the time to find a replacement. Luckily, we still had Jack to help us, if he wasn’t there this day would have been a bust. However, Mary did have an idea to find another backup singer. That idea was to ask one of her younger neighbors if she wanted to help us film. The neighbors name is Kylie she is nine and lives next door to Mary. When Mary went to ask her neighbor they couldn’t help. Elena and Jack had arrived at the time she was trying to make contact. Elena came first and Mary’s dogs found them very interesting even though they had been to Mary’s house before they same goes for Jack.

Once the dogs had settled down and everyone had met the real filming day began. Elena went to change into Video’s first costume which are their pj’s. Since the whole idea of the first couple scenes are to parallel each other, we had to film video waking up. This was a huge challenge because standing on Mary’s bed is like standing on a sink hole. It took a lot of trial and error to get the shot to line up with Radio Star’s shot. Unlike Mary, Elena didn’t have a hard time with this. They did very well channeling their inner Wednesday Addams. While Elena and Mary were filming this scene Jack went to change into his suit. The next thing we filmed was the backup singer (Jack) getting ready for work. We originally were going to do it in Mary’s bedroom in front of the large mirror but it was decided to go into a bathroom. We had to stand off to the side so we were not in frame while Jack fixed his hair. Mary then got in her costume and we gathered our props and backdrop to head to the large bathroom. The original plan for this shot was to have Elena on the outside of the glass while Mary and Jack were inside pretending it was a sound booth. We didn’t account for the fact the glass would reflect. So, we had to change a few things. Firstly, Jack had to move the backdrop. He was the only one who could reach it. All then went behind the glass. Elena lined up the shot then hit play on the music. It took a little while however we were able to get the shot. It was then back to Elena’s turn. They got into Video’s costume so we could shoot them getting ready. We had a close up on Elena’s hand while they put a glove on. Then Mary went into the same uncomfortable position on the ground that Elena did to get a shot of them putting their shoes on. After that was all finished, we tried to different tracking shots as Radio picked up the letter and walked out the door one from the stairs the other from the middle of the room.
