Filming Blog - Silver City continued

It was difficult to keep removing and putting on the sunglasses to review each shot. For the light effects we decided it was better to use the changing light setting and not the solid color. Mary’s disco ball also broke so we couldn’t use it. We originally were going to use the silver tablecloth as a back dropped, but Mary decided that it was better to use as a cape. We then went on to film the pan scene, but realized it was too dark and the camera couldn't capture us. Mary's friend then had the idea to add a phones flashlight on the tripod and point it up from under me. I volunteered my phone and would and point it to Mary when the camera panned off me. I then directed the ending medium-long scene where I made sure the friend moved the camera up at the right point. We then decided to film a spontaneous dancing scene as a moving shot, so we got the friend to film that. I had to direct her to make the movement faster in order to keep in the 30-second slot. After an hour, my partners friend left. We did a costume change and shot a couple more scenes where we used a tripod or one of use. After setting up the tripod and double checking the angles we filmed one hallway scene. Afterwards, my partner realized I was wearing my seeing glasses not my sunglasses, so we had to refilm that. After that, we did the music emersion establishing scene where the costume change took place. We had to set up the tripod high and far and had to make sure that Mary's feet were in the same place in both cuts. I did this by placing another pair of shoes where her feet were while she did a costume change. We then filmed the second part, which took a couple of tries. I oversaw pressing the play button while Mary stayed in her spot. After that we were done filming and had to change out of costume and put props away.
