Planning Blog: Location, Participants, Health, Schedule
Location:
All scenes will be shot at Mary’s house since it is on a very unsettlingly wide street that is perfect for the second scene. The house is also on a canal which is better for the last scene when you have to see the sky in the background. Where Elena lives you can’t see the horizon very much and there is a lot of car traffic which will make the second scene hard to film. It is also easier to film the indoor, first scene at Mary’s house to keep it all in one place. Only downside is that it is decorated very modern beach vibes which isn’t very gothic but we’ll decorate it with gothic props to the best of our abilities.
Schedule:
Mary is free every Friday and the weekend of March 11 and 12, so we will most likely film those days. Her schedule is very tight this upcoming Month so we are going to have to make the days work for when we can film.
Actors:
Mary will play Aurelia and Elena will play Mara. We will get two of our friends to play Yaga (preferably female) and vampire hunter (preferably male). If worst comes to shove our backup plan is to have one friend play both characters and work with costumes and makeup.
Props and Safety:
We will need a rose or some type of flower, wine glasses, beet juice (for blood in wine glasses), fake blood, red lipstick, a ring, and black gloves. We will also need various antique look-a-like or gothic objects to place around the house for scene one including a black skull (curtesy of Elena), dried up flowers, busts, and other trinkets. The fake blood will be skin safe, and the attack scene will be nothing more than a tight grab and a fall to the floor; no one should get seriously hurt. The dogs will be placed in a separate room while filming scenes and not allowed to drink beet juice.
