We did a murder
Part 2
The second part of the day involved the murder. After Elena got in her costume, she did her makeup. While she did that Mary and Constanza made fake blood using corn syrup and red food coloring. We then packed a knife in an inconspicuous bag and brought a paintbrush and fake blood to the film site. We decided to film in that area behind the buildings because it looked forest-y and the most away from society (ie. where a murder would take place). Since Mary had to fall down to the ground we went through a trial and error of falling in places with the least rocks and roots. She was also wearing her dress shoes for JORTC so she was stressing about not getting them scuffed. Constanza then filmed the murder scene which took a few tries to get the tilt, positioning, and timing right. Between takes, Elena had to keep adding/spreading the fake blood on the knife with the paintbrush since corn syrup has a tendency to group together and not stay spread like blood. We then filmed the dutch shot which required Elena to put the fake blood on her face for prosthetic effects.
Part 1 day 2
The second day was delayed for a couple of weeks. This was frustrating for many reasons, the first being that we thought we were running out of time to do all we wanted. Another was because both of us have terribly busy schedules so finding time where we can take three hours out of the day can be challenging for us. The reason we were so delayed is because Mary had a challenging time trying to find someone to aid us in the filming process. Since we needed for someone to be a back up singer for Radio Star we needed to wait until. Time when one of Mary’s friends were able to help us film. Why it had to be one of Mary’s friends is because we were going to be filming at her house, we did not want to have one of Elena’s friends go somewhere they had not been before. We did finally find friends to help us with filming! Their names are Jack and Ciara. Except Ciara canceled super last minute so we ended up with one helper, Jack.
